NDA calculation rules

Night Duty Allowance is counted only for time worked within the
10:00 PM – 6:00 AM window (maximum 8 hrs per night). Time worked
outside this window is not counted toward NDA hours — only the overlap with the
night window is paid.
Example: shift from 8:00 PM (01.01.2026) to 4:00 AM (02.01.2026) →
overlap with 10 PM–6 AM is 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM = 6 NDA hrs
(the 8–10 PM portion is outside the window and not counted).

NDA rate per hour is calculated as
(Pay + DA) / 200, where DA is a percentage
of Pay (DA amount = Pay × DA% / 100). Set Pay and DA% in your profile,
or enter Pay + DA directly on an entry, to see the computed rate and payable amount.

NDA amount is calculated as
NDA rate × NDA hrs / 6.
Example: rate ₹210/hr and 7 NDA hrs → 210 × 7 / 6 = ₹245.00.

Pay is capped at ₹43,600 for NDA calculation. If your actual Pay
exceeds this, ₹43,600 is used in place of the actual Pay when working out DA amount
and NDA rate.
Example: Pay ₹48,000 → treated as ₹43,600 for NDA rate purposes.

When Pay or DA% changes (increment, promotion, or a DA revision), set the new amount
with its effective date in your profile. Each duty night automatically
uses whichever Pay and DA% were in force on that night's own date — older nights
keep the old figures, newer nights use the updated ones. If you save a change after
entries are already logged, those entries are recalculated automatically.
Example: Pay rises from ₹35,000 to ₹38,000 effective 03.01.2026, and DA
separately rises from 50% to 53% effective 08.01.2026 → a duty entry spanning
01.01–10.01.2026 is split into three correctly-priced segments automatically.
